Aside from Upland, are any of the other breweries worth checking out? I see there is BBC, Function and Big Woods in Nashvile.

Was thinking of grabbing a growler for the hotel.

    Thanks!

If you're getting a growler get Common Necessity from Quaff On (aka Big Woods). I took one to Darkness Day and it was a big hit.

Bloomington Brewing Company and Function are both really good spots to hit for sure....

Function is my favorite in town by far. But no carry out as far as I'm aware.

Stay Faaaar away from Nashville during a weekend. This time of year that place is a zoo

Not a brewery, but Yogi's has a pretty decent beer selection. used to have dark lord vintages on the menu but i don't see them on there anymore. they were ~$250.:grimacing:

Quaff On!/Big Woods does have a brewpub in Bloomington. It's off Grant St. The food is pretty good, and they fill growlers there, or you can sit at the bar for a pint or two.

I'd recommend Function. They don't do growlers, but their food and beer is good. BBC/Lennie's and Yogi's are both nice as well although more crowded when IU is in session. Big Woods/Quaff On does have a location in Bloomington relatively close to Function and Upland and have one of the best guest draft lists in town.

Thanks for all the recommendations. Our schedule changed slightly and I only managed to get to Upland this go round. Grabbed a growler of the Harvest Ale and thought it was a solid "B" offering.

Will be excited to check out some of the other spots mentioned here when we get back down there without the kiddos.

    Cheers,
    Chad
