I'm heading to Columbus this weekend, August 7-9, and just looking for the best stops as far as stores and/or bars go? Or if there are any cool events going on that would be worth attending. Thanks in advance! Cheers!

You might want to give your route and willingness to detour off of it, since there's always at least one BA who wants to tell you to just take a short 2+ hour drive somewhere else for a "can't miss" bar or bottle shop.

Really just looking for places within 45min-1hour of Columbus. Have other stuff planned, so side-tours can't be too far out of the way.

Anderson's General Store in Dublin has the best beer selection in the city - I'd make that a first stop. Weilands in Clintonville also has a great selection of beer and spirits.

Bar-wise, I'd be sure to hit up either Bob's Bar or The Crest in Clintonville - the former has a pretty great tap selection (no food) and the latter has a great selection of Ohio drafts and out of town drafts.

If you wanna get a growler filled I'd recommend either The Daily Growler or The Ohio Taproom. The Daily Growler (Powell and Upper Arlington locations) has a TON of great stuff on tap (and you can order pints) and The Ohio Taproom (Grandview) has only Ohio drafts if you're looking to sample what we've got to offer. Make sure you drink something from CBC, Seventh Son and Hoof Hearted while you're here!

Definitely recommend hitting up the Short North, specifically North Market. There's a solid bottle shop w growler fills there and some of the best fried chicken upstairs called Hot Chicken. Within walking distance from there I'd check out Bodega, House Beer, and Pies and Pints.

    Enjoy!
