I'd have to say ten fidy is the best commercially available.

Ten Fidy for me. I have a few bottles of a clone left that I want to try side by side. I'm tired of waiting for it to come back already.

For me it's founder's imperial stout, old rasputin, mission dark seas, Obsidian stout and founder's porter which really drinks like a stout. Oh yea gotta show love for left hand milk stout nitro. Cheers.

No mention of Black Chocolate Stout yet? Severely underrated beer. I'd put it in the same category as Ten Fidy and Expedition, although it's probably less ageable.

    Yeti
    Samuel Smith's Imperial Stout
    Ten FIDY
Bell's Special Double Cream Stout - a misnomer since its not a milk stout, so technically it is not "flavored" with any extra additions (i.e. no milk sugars)

Plead the 5th, Prefer Imperial Biscotti Break, but pretty sure it doesn't qualify.

That may be how it's listed on this site, but the brewer calls it a "black ale," Martyn Cornell has called it a stout, and many fine folks don't think there's any real difference between the two. Since oats go into it, "oatmeal stout" might be a better fit than "porter" for it on this site. It's a damn fine beer no matter how you slice it.

although I have a hell of a time finding it in good condition in the US. Even kegs usually dont taste as good as the bottles I tried in Belgium.
