I don't drink enough of one beer or even beer style to need a substitute. Constant rotation of stock at home with only a couple of regulars in the rotation. Preferences - yes, bu they are pretty weak and I am not in the "gotta have my _____" camp. I refuse to be stereotyped!!!!!

Right now, I think I can claim immunity

This is funnier when read in Christopher Walken's voice.

you have some odd substitutions. speedway and blackmetal couldnt be more different. also id take almost any imperial stout over stone ris; guess we just have opposite tastes...

I'm don't know what part of NY you're from but get to Peekskill Brewing. Every one of his beers is good and his pale's and IPA's are freaking excellent. He has a triple IPA too !!

Agreed. I'm also lucky enough to have Southern Tier, Smuttynose, and Middle Ages available without fail.

There's something about the grapefruit nose on the Flower Power (especially off a draft) that reminds me of Heady.

Stirred. Unless I plan on slamming it down.

It must suck to only have a Plan A and a Plan B.

Plenty to choose from. The top 500 beers on this site are probably all rated over 90, I would say we will be ok.

Oh, and there might be some new stuff out there to consider.

But, maybe I don't know...been into craft beer most my life and never felt the need to seek out Heady the Elder.

And wine. I love that study that showed that wine experts couldn't tell the difference between red wine and white wine dyed red.
