I've seen some nice anniversary promotions where taps were free for an hour, but The Black Sheep Ale House has that beat. For the rest of the summer until Labor Day, all 25 craft taps are $4.00 per glass (16 oz, 12 oz, and some less). They did it last year and weren't sure if they would do it again this year. I imagine profit margins becomes quite thin as some kegs are expensive. Hope people can come and give their business a boost so they will do it again next year. It's a very nice bar in Mineola (Long Island), NY. They are close to the LIRR train station. Don't you wish other bars followed their lead? Do you know of other ongoing summer promotions?

I heard something about doing this before, but I guess it's the time of the year that they do this again. Apparently it's going all the way until Labor Day?!

Forget about Pony Bar pushing their prices to $6 from $5, now I get my beers at $4. Currently they have Fluffer, RuinTen, Flower Power. I've even seen them have BCBCS twice this year and Sucaba on tap. They were even selling bottles of Cherry Rye BCBS before they ran out.

    ...But $4 < $5...

And for true LIers, Nassau is basically the city anyway. Thanks for the heads up though. I've been meaning to trek out to Black Sheep to check it out. This certainly increases the return on my investment.

It also depends on where you are. I live in Nassau, but find myself mostly in Brooklyn and Manhattan on the weekends. So arguably, it's actually a hard sell to keep in me on the Island.

Also, if you're in Queens, Mineola just as far (close) as Manhattan.

I live about 45 miles north of NYC and would rather have 2 root canals than go to Long Island in the summer. I would rather have 1 root canal than go to Long Island at any other time.

Some would say they've rather have 3 root canals than live in that "place" that is above NYC, or what only counts as NY.

But yeah, I wouldn't recommend you coming down 45 miles for it. Hell, can't think of much beer that NYC would offer that would be worth the trip.

I did it just as a frequent goer and fan of the place. Liam is a Irish bartender that is also Cicerone certified.

You live 45 miles north of NYC and actually have internet access? I was under the impression that after Orchard Beach in the Bronx there was just a giant waterfall cascading into a bottomless chasm

The waterfall is actually quite refreshing in the summer and the chasm is not bottomless, it just looks that way from the beach. And oh, we also have smart phone access. Will wonders never cease?
