No disrespect to the other thread, I've seen tap takeovers I'd deem pointless but, it got me thinking of some amazing ones I've been to. So, what's the best one you've attended? Rare beers from a brewery in your region? Lots of beers from a brewery you thought you'd not get to try on tap? Cheers.

For myself would have had to be Dieu Du Ciel! Do rarely see them on tap but trying Moralité, Peche Mortel, Rigor Mortis, for the first time was incredible. Pub also had a great variety of DDC! bottles in for the occasion. A top class Canadian brewery having so much choice in Scotland was pretty impressive.

So what was memorable for you?

In 2010 at Blind Tiger in NYC, Hill Farmstead. I had never had their beers before. It was awesome! I even wrote Shawn a fan letter and he wrote back!!

That sounds perfect! For me, it was a simple Foothills (Winston-Salem) takeover at Sticks and Stones in Greensboro. The owners, brewers, and friends from everywhere feasted on a great variety of brews and not a soul bitched about a thing. It was fun and very informative.

Only one I've been to was a Kent falls tap takeover and everything I tried was fantastic!

I want to say it was 2012 at The Willows in San Francisco..it when Goose just started to take their products national and this bar had a tap takeover that included bourbon county regular, coffee, cherry, big john, night stalker and had bottles of rare and king henry. And there were maybe 10 people in the bar too...not sure if it was because the BCS train hadn't left the station yet, or if barrel aged stouts just weren't a west coast thing at that point.

I've only been to one thus far, but it was a slam dunk. It was a Founders tap takeover and got to try KBS, CBS, '13 Backwoods, and Mosaic Promise. Excellent.

Agreed on Founders. Last year Farmhouse had CBS, KBS, Backwoods Bastard, Blushing Monk, '14 FIS... and there were more that I can't remember. I could have stayed until it was all gone...

I went to a great Founders tap takeover about 6 months ago that had KBS, CBS, Backwoods and a ton of other stuff. The only sad part was that it was on a weeknight so I had to be somewhat reasonable what I consumed.

You seem confused about the other thread, I acknowledged that tap takeovers can be great events, it's the shitty and pointless ones that just serve normal beer available 365 days a year which should be protested and mocked by BA's.

Stone did one some years back at Rattle N Hum (and other places) with vintage brews of theirs that would be hard to beat. Ridiculous lineup.

I went to a Jack's Abby one at a local place a few years ago, 30 taps of just Jack's Abby, all the hoppy lagers, all the variants of Framinghammer, tons of one-offs, just an awesome time.
