I have been through the threads and I hear people saying this beer just hit its peak or it is past it's prime I just want to make a thread for people who age their beers to tell the other members if the beer they are aging is good now or to wait!

    For instance...

Just popped a 2013 Sea monster and boy was it boozy! I'd definitely give it a year or two to let it mellow

But the Stone Espresso RIS 2013 I just popped a week or two back was on point and I would say should be best fresh!

Help others not age their beer past its prime! We are all in this together!

Best time to drink Victory Storm King is fresh. Its supposed to be a hoppy stout, so aging it just makes it a normal stout.

For me? Between 0 hour and 24:00...:grinning:

It's a beer by beer basis. And also a taste thing. Buy several of the same beer and age them. Drink them at intervals and figure out what "you" like the best. Folks can point you in the right direction, but you'll be the determining factor as to what is right.

What time does your alarm clock go off? That's the best time to drink a beer!

It is always up to personel preference but I just wanted a go to in case you wanted a rule of thumb or guideline if you will! Cheers!

I think this years Brooklyn Black Chocolate Stout is pretty boozy, so I put a 4-pack away until next year. I'm not sure if it will get better, but I figure it is worth a shot.

Just FYI, this is what the monthly cellar reviews forums are used for. I don't believe someone has started a December forum yet, but you can find previous months with a simple search or just looking through the cellaring/aging beer forum list. Cheers!
