Best Trading Extras - Gotten and Given

Prob a black note 12 oz given. Received many gems.

 

I was shocked a few times with extras, most notably Marshal Zhukov, Darkness, BCBVS and Matt. Trading beer is awesome, I appreciate absolutely any extra!

 

I'm a sucker for fulfilling wants. That's probably the best part of trading for me. I've given a corked and caged La Folie and an '09 Dark Lord, which was back when it was solidly good. Best extra I've gotten is Pseudosue...it is now a perma-want!

 

One of the best extras I've received so far is probably New Glarus Raspberry Tart. Best extra I've given I think would be a 2011 Imperial Stout Trooper or some Surly Abrasive.

 

Received- Many awesome beers. Some of the best ones are extras I had no idea to even ask for.

Given- I usually give brewery only release beers, then wants or different beers from the same beer release.
IE if we have a trade for 1 Brewery X special release beer, I may send 2 or 3 different ones if they released more than one style at the release.

Weirdest- I mailed a free sexy chocolate to a pretty well known trader a while back because he had posted an ISO which I told him to cancel, and I included a corona frog. I had the thing forever and thought it was odd but had nowhere to put it. It is a real frog made up to be drinking a corona. I considered it fair game as an odd funny crappy extra since I was already giving him a brewery only release free that he was looking for.
It did not seem like it went over well, I thought Id get a laugh.

 

I always throw in a couple handmade ceramic coasters with beer labels on them.

I got a white chocolate as an extra once, greatest day ever.

 

My first ever Heady Topper from BA omniscientcause during an IP trade. He did the leg work in checking my Wants and surprised me with it. I couldn't thank him enough. Totally blew me away.

 

I appreciate any and all extras but have literally been blown away by some traders.

I've received Abyss (Bitterbill), MoaS (Black13), and many other great beers from some really great traders.

There have been a ton of people who have sent some really great boxes.

 

Don't really have wales to give, so the best were parabola ans KBS. The best I have gotten were Huna and brandy barrel Huna. I'm paying him back with a porch crusher in a few months when I can walk on my broken ankle

 

sent a 4 year bcbs vertical and assassin as extras in a box, it is hard to keep track of what is "extra" as most everything I send to people are just extras.

 

Best sent would be Dark Lord (do a couple every year), Upland Lambics, BCBV (when it came out and wasn't too crazy), lots of KBS/BCBS, etc.

Best Received would be MOAS, RR sours, 3 yr old CWBBBW, and a MF from Chicago name Nate Engle once met me in person to replace a box that Fedex ate, and dude gave me this selection as extras: LeBleu, Darkness, '07 BCBS, '08 BCBS, and other things i don't even remember (wtf man? i was standing there clueless on what to do...)

I'm sure there are a ton i'm forgetting, many of the boxes i send/receive anymore are just freebies/no set trade, so it's hard to say haha.

 

Best I've ever received was probably 2 BA Blackout when it was a top want of mine, best I've given is probably either Heady Topper or Bourbon County (multiple times).

Ive got good beers as extas..Never received "whalz" or stuff off my wants..But a bunch of the beers ive received I have no complaints as most ive enjoyed..

As far as sending? KBS, BB4D, Growler of DRIPA are the best ive had to send so far...

I'm not counting the regular trade partner stuff, since as other's have mentioned, there are no real trades going on, just hooking each other up with great beer.

Best Sent: A bottle shipper of Cherry Adam, Bourbon Fred, Fantasia, Peche n Brett, Block 15 BA Quad, and Belmont Station 15th Anniversary as a care package for tax season

 

I've received lots of great ones, including Westy 12+ (mechamifune); 6x Abrasive + Masala Mama+ (shclais, of course); Bourbon Sidamo+ (Shilt and Yumyumgumgum). But especially crazy was a Mother of All Storms a simple 1 for 1 trade of $20, local brewery-only releases with javincik.

In an IP trade with eatabagofbooger for some limited locals, I just knew he was gonna kill it, so I brought him a Black Note, and he came through with a Cherry Adam from the Wood

 

Gotten - an empty pill bottle with someone's medical information still on it. No cap, no noisemakers that spilled out, etc. It wasn't the name of the trader either...

 

Just received a Splinter Gold as an extra . Also received a batch 1 CR as an extra :-). Best sent BA Kopi and BA speedway
