Best Trading Extras - Gotten and Given

He who gives a 4-pack of Heady Topper as an extra need not feel like an ass. Great taste trumps rarity every time.

 

Dude, that's just a whole other level. I can't put my whole cellar together and score a rare or blabaer.

 

I won't feel like an ass shortly lol. But yeah Heady is very nice and after my most recent extras of a 2L growler, cantillon gueuze, and 4 pack of heady, I think I'm doing better on extras now (multiple ppl involved in that trade). I just felt bad bc I didn't realize extras were the norm for my first trade. LambicKing knows about that but I make up for my lack of knowledge going forward.

 

Best extras ever received is now from ubufan2112 who just this last week sent me a Consecration, White Chocolate, Imperial Stout Trooper, and Heady Topper as extras. Blown away!

 

Can't even remember the best extra I've gotten, but I've had some really nice ones.

Best extras I've sent are Lente, St. Lamvinus, '03 3F OGV, Suntory Hibiki 17 year, Adam FtW, others. Mostly separate trades. Also I'm only listing bigger name things that are popular because 'best' extra is really subjective. I love hitting wants, and if I can't then I send stuff that I love to drink myself.

Extras are fun.

 

Rempo gave me a full case of Bruery RS stuff and a few other wants just for getting married. Who does that?

I've extra'd a few Rares, most recently to biglobo last week.

I've also extra'd a few KH and B5

 

Given: Heady...my record is 3x 4-packs as extras in one trade. That was received well. I don't send many boxes out without Heady, even if that's not part of the trade. Also got lucky to score over a case of '12 KBS, so I sent probably 8 bottles of KBS as extras in trades last year. Backwoods Bastard is a popular extra that I send out too.

Received: Westy 12 (my first and only one ever), Firestone 15, Beat B5, Supplication, Sucaba, Parabola, BCBS, BCBCS, 3-year vert of Backwoods, Raspberry Tart (I've had four bottles of this in my life...all were extras to me).

I always try to give awesome extras, usually RR sours and or Almanac stuff. The best is when I can hit wants.

If it was sent/received from a regular trading partner it is not really an extra, just an ongoing trade that never ends. The way people are postiing here I could say I have received every pacific northwest release in the last 12 months as an extra including fantasia, blend love, peche n brett, el cuatro, bbomb, KDS, cherry adam, bourbon fred, BA kopi speedway,etc.

gave out a handful of '12 bcbs extras recently, a forgotten island, and bomb. I remember when I once got an imperial biscotti break and a big black voodoo daddy once, I was pretty excited about that. Got a firestone walker xiv and 2 pliny before as extras as well.

 

I've been pretty heavy on extra lately. One of my recent boxes i gave were rye + brandy Bois actually lost the whole box in transit =|

Ive always given alot more extras than I receive. Kinda think I need to start calming down on my $50+ extras on trades valued at $50 lol.
