Best way to make a false bottom

    i have regular 1/2 barrel kegs i want to use for mash tuns and and boil kettles and i wanted to know what the best false bottoms people use are. homemade would be cheapest and preferred

    I made a manifold out of CPVC that fits in my 10gallon igloo cooler. Cut it and fit it however you want it to look. I then drilled tiny holes in the bottom and I don't any grain coming through. Works like a champ and have had no sparging issues

    ^^This is what I did. Works like a champ and pretty cheap to make. I can show you some pics and what parts you need if your interested in going that route.

    I was initially going to attempt to make some sort of diy\cheap false bottom also, but quickly realized its a lot easier and cheaper to set up a manifold.
