So I have a fraternity brother from Temple Univ that is from Oxford Pa but moved to Dallas/Ft Worth area with his wive a few years ago and has become a cowboys fan. Weyerbacher made a beer called Dallas Sucks and I want to send him a can. What is the best way to do this?
If its just the one can, wrap the crap out of it with bubble wrap and put in a small box and use USPS priority. Smaller than the medium flat rate will be cheaper than the flat rate box price...I sent a ton this way with cans with sports team references over the last few years. Averaged in the $7 range. If sending more, the flat rate boxes are great. I have sent over 100 using them and have not had one issue...get anywhere in 2 days.
Unless the box is 3 or 4lbs or more and going to zone 4 or 5 of further away, Priority Flat Rate is usually significantly more expensive since you'll need a Medium FR box at least. It's really easy to calculate between that vs. "package/thick envelope" Priority. Yup, exactly this. Also, if you used USPS via PayPal, you'll save a little bit on cost as well (I think 10-15%).
The best way to send one can.... Surround it with 7 others and put it in a USPS medium flat rate box.
