I may have posted this a few years ago but a lot has changed.

Any establishments in Bethesda that serve up good beer and food? I remember a couple years ago going to a seafood place that had a thorough beer list. The food wasn't great but the beer was the best I could find in the city, by far. Is this place still around? It was in the less fancy section of Bethesda.

I'll be near the intersection of Wisconsin and East West Highway so walking distance is best.

I'm a big fan of Food Wine & Co. I haven't been in a couple of years, but they had one of the better beer lists in Bethesda when I was last there. Mussel Bar & Grille, might be the better choice now though. They have FW Luponic Distortion on tap currently!

Honestly, get on the red line and go into D.C.

What spots are off the red line? Churchkey looks like a 10 minute walk. I'm not from D.C. so I have no idea of the geography.

Get off at Dupont Circle, Pizza Paradiso Dupont, Big hunt, bottle shops, walk about 10 minutes to Churchkey, lots of options... depends on what you want.

Thanks for the help. To be honest I just want to drink some good beer that I can't get in LA. If there's good food to go with it or good food nearby then the experience is that much better. I go on these trips twice a year and always end up settling for some shitty place in Bethesda after work with overpriced food and a terrible tap list. I'll be there Monday-Thursday night so any good events might be interesting as well.

The hard part is convincing coworkers to stray from the beaten path so places that are minimal distance from the a metro exit are key.

I'd probably choose a really good tap list and great food over the greatest taplist and no food. At home that might be different but in this situation it makes sense.
