Better half goblets

    FYI the shipping is still brutal and it was only $2.79 less then the cost of my two glasses...

    Can someone explain why they sell a Better Half goblet? Isn't Better Half an Old Ale? I don't see this glassware being the right choice for this beer.

    No problem; I've been checking the site daily for months and would have possibly missed out since I checked about an hour before they were added today but Erin at founders said she would email me when they came in a few months ago and did just that today. Erin and Founders kick ass with their customer support!

    To bad these weren't available a month or so ago when the CBS snifters were in stock would have picked up one of each rather than a pair of the snifters. Since I just paid $10+ to get those shipped I'll pass on this.

    I questioned the shipping and they are refunding me like 4 bucks due to their UPS systems screwup I guess.

    I was also refunded like $3 on my CBS purchase, no regrets love the snifters and glad I got them. While the Better Half glass looks not sure I like it enough to pay the shipping again so soon.

    Holding out hopes for another shipment of KBS glasses. Snagged two of the better Half. Not waiting ever again :slight_smile:

    I can agree that a goblet may not be the first glass you reach for when consuming this beer but I would not go as far as saying it is an inappropriate choice. Better Half is a big beer with a huge aroma, I do not think you really need to capture, concentrate or focus that aroma to appreciate it.

    I'm not that picky when it comes to glassware, I was just saying it's not the obvious traditional glass for this style of beer. Goblets are designed to maintain head and are wide-mouthed for deep sips. I'd qualify that more typical of Belgian-style beers. I'm not taking deep/big sips of Old Ale, nor are they known for head retention or aroma.

    Well, Founders decided to use the goblet for their Better Half so I trust their judgement. After all, it's their beer. :slight_smile:
