What Frank said. And Rare wasn't hard to find for quite awhile. The price tag is alienating to most consumers...at least it used to be. Where was this Cantillon?

Cantillon is all gone from Chicago. All the good "rarities" are double the price now anyways. If you go to Kenwood in Homer glen you can buy a CBS for 80 bucks! DEAL O THE YEAR

Jesus. Since Shelton Brothers came back we got one shipment at the beginning of December and the second one will be on Monday. It's ridiculous how little we get down here.

Agreed. Chicago people don't realize how lucky they are sometimes. I live in southern Illinois and we didn't get any BCBS this year. None. In the same state as the brewery.

The last time I was in Chicago (Spring 2011) I picked up multiple Cantillon Classic Gueuzes, a Lou Pepe Kriek, a Lou Pepe Framboise, and an Iris as well as LA Red Poppy and some New Belgium sours. I picked some up at Binny's in Schaumburg and another Binny's location as well as another Beer and Wine shop that I don't remember the name of out near the airport. On trips in 2008 and 2009 I had NEVER seen so much Cantillon. I picked up St Lamvinus, Lou Pepe's, Classic, Vigneronne, etc. Shelves stocked DEEP with Cantillon. Obviously the last 18 months the Cantillon squeeze has been felt everywhere but for a long time Illinois was the best place for me to get it. Peoria had quite a bit as well. As I previously stated, Chicago BAs don't know how good they have it.

If the last time you were in Chicago was the spring, then you have NO idea what the beer scene in Chicago has become. I can remember staring at those same shelves of Cantillon back in '09 and even in late '10, but not so any more. I haven't seen a single bottle of Cantillon on any of my trips home in the past 8-10 months.

Stepdaughter tried to do me a favor and picked one up from ABC Fine Wine in GR. They charged her $37. She had no idea how much over the regular price she was being charged. I'm pretty unhappy with that, but in the end, I guess I end up with another bottle. :/
