Travelling between the two, back and forth, over the next couple days. I was hoping to get some recommendations for little sleeper stops along the way. I know the big guys I want to hit in each city, but as far as random, amazing, "Toppling Goliath"-esque establishments a bit off the beaten path, I ask for your help. Cheers all!!
I'm in Bloomington Illinois, about the half way point between Chicago and St Louis. Nothing to speak of sits on shelves here, but if you veer off the 55 route and hit Friar Tuck in Peoria or Champaign, and binny's in Champaign, you can usually find decent stuff, though no toppling Goliath.
Try Destihl in Bloomington. Great food at their brewpub and some tasty sours and Belgian beers. Pretty close to I-55 we hit it on way up to Chicago all the time
