We've got tickets to the Between the Bluffs beer, wine and cheese Festival, in LaCrosse,WI, on 4/26. From those who have attended in the past, is it a pretty good fest? I see TG and NG will be there! Do they bring some special beers?
I stopped going to most fests in WI due to the lack of anything original outside of IPA, stout, and a red compared to MI/MN fests, would also like to know if this one is worth the trip or not.
From what I remember last year it was a great time. I went with the VIP tickets last year, and this year, and IMO it's the way to go. You get in 1 1/2 hrs before everyone else so you get first dibs on the beer so if they have something rare you get first crack at it. The Between the Bluffs website doesn't show all of the breweries, either. There was a lot more last year that wasn't on the website. Last year TG had their core beers but opened some Assassin in the afternoon and the tent they were in went nuts. I got ahold of them a little while ago and they didn't know what they were pouring this year. Hopefully they bring more Assassin and maybe King Sue?
