Anyone have or use one of these. Have a conversation going with a seller and wanted to get a little feed back from the community about it.

I'd rather not build my own and this one seems to be the right price.

    Thanks in advance

Bev Air is one of the kings of kegerators, so you would be buying quality. In a used one you want to look at door seals and the ability to cool. This should be done with a 5 gallon bucket of water to make sure it can deal with a large thermal mass. For the 58 you may want to use a few.

Awesome thanks for the info. So thermometer, 5 gal buckets and I'm thinking a battery powered lantern left inside to check the door seals?

How long should it take for the water to cool to 33-39 degrees I'm guessing?

The lantern works, have the current owner put the buckets in and take a temp on them in 24 hrs. You should be able to get in the 35 degree range at about 3/4's on the temp dial.

As posted above a couple buckets of water 24hrs prior to you looking at it.tstat should operate at roughly 38F set at position 5. If he has it cranked to 9 and still barely holding temp something is wrong.I had a bucket of water in my bm23 for an initial test after a total rebuild of all refrigeration components left in my backyard for a day in the middle of the summer with tstat at 6 and I had a thin sheet of ice on top of the water in the bucket.

Also was this unit in a commercial bar or was it already in a residential situation?Because those units have there beer drains and condensate drains drain to a central drain hose on the floor in front of unit.If your gonna put in your house those drain lines need to be bypassed to a container in the unit.

Commercial use for it. Thanks for the heads up about that. Could I run the line say 20 or so feet or would it be sufficient to have a 5 gallon bucket inside the unit?

20ft run would be ok if it's pitched to run downwards.
A five gallon bucket is over kill.
I have converted these in the past with a couple "Tees" and a gallon container inside the unit.will post a pic of a set up when I find it.

Here is a pic of a DD58 with the drain and condensate bypassed to a container within the unit.
