I wanted to post for the first time about a verbal agreement I have to purchase a BM-23C-B. The unit is 1 year old and I'm finding that it can only come in a single faucet construction from Beverage Air because of the sliding top. Does that mean that there is absolutely no way to eventually turn the unit into a dual faucet system? Any information from anyone would be greatly appreciated as I'm supposed to pick the unit up in a week and a half. It was a very good deal and it would be hard to let it go.

You can, but will have to figure out a drip tray solution since the current set up has enough room for one small one straight ahead.

I appreciate the response Doug. Do you just assume it can be done or do you know that it has been done before? With the tower on this unit being 2.5" instead of 3 I'm hoping it won't be a problem.

Is there anywhere I can go to find someone else that has solved this problem? I don't mind starting with the single but I would like to eventually have another beer option for myself and friends.

I have not done it. The guys you need to chime in for real world experience are billandsuz or iceace.

You will need to search for something like this. It is an extension that fits to the top of the existing tower and gets you one more faucet.

2 1/2" Towers are not common and I am not sure there is an adapter available. It will also be very tight with 2 chokers in there.

Next option, replace the tower with a 3". That will take some carpentry but it can be done. You will need to have the new tower available, the old tower removed, a plank of wood (oak or some other hardwood) and carpentry skills.

Make a cleat to cover the existing hole. Make a template through the wood and into the existing bar top threads. You'll want to get that spot on. Place a hole on the plank (use the template provided with the new tower). Plank is attached to bar top. New tower attached to plank. Done.

This is an example of what can be done. The existing tower was replaced with this fancy Perlick, but the base of the new tower did not cover the old hole, and there was nowhere for the tower to be fastened. Your bar top is stainless, so you have additional headaches.

    Billandsuz,
I appreciate all of the suggestions. To be honest I’m not really looking to do any custom work personally. Now that doesn’t mean that I wouldn’t be interested in having someone else do something if it still looked factory correct.

I’d be surprised if I was the first person with a BM-23C-B that realized they wanted a second faucet. I hope that I can find an easier solution to my problem at some point in the future with minimal customization. If you come across this moving forward please respond with new information.
    Thanks,
    Andrew

I don't have the BM-23C, I have a cheapo big box store kegerator that came with a 2.5 inch tower and respective hole. Its not that hard to do what billandsuz mentions with the piece of wood. Basically if you can cut a straight line and cut a circle in the middle it won't be very noticeable. I matched the black paint on the top of the kegerator to the wood and its been working fine for a few years now. I think the only mistake I made was not sealing the connection with caulking or such because the fridge plate ices over so I believe that's from moisture getting in. It will certainly look better than the tower extender and a lot easier than trying to fit two lines in a 2.5 inch tower.

I have definitely seen friends buy the replacement tower and paint the wood to match the top. Unfortunately the top of the BM-23C is stainless steel and the area where the tower connects is barely larger than the 2.5" tower. Right in front of it is the small drip tray and right behind it is the shelf. This unit has the tower on the far left of the unit and somewhat forward.

That certainly complicates things! Good luck
