Beverage Plus in Floral Park, NY

    Thought I'd give you guys a heads up on an "opening event" for Beverage Plus, even though it's been open for a good part of this year. The owner, Joy, is very knowledgeable and helpful.

    He's releasing beers for sale this Friday and Saturday. I think he said Mexican Cake, this year's BA Firestone Walker beers, and more. He's also doing a free raffle for a bottle of Cantillon Gueuze.

    Just a shout out in case some you guys didn't get these beers when they came around.

    Glad I'm getting the word out. This place has become one of my favorite stores in Queens/LI.

    I notice he's gets Thirsty Dog (BA Siberian, Wulver), Central Waters (BB Stout), and Jack's Abby. Even though we got distribution recently, lots of stores don't seem to have them.

    The store carries a lot of stuff other places on LI don't given he brings down from his other store in, I think, Upstate NY. Nice guy. Know we all do this anyway but strongly suggest checking dates on bottles. Some of the stuff is way outdated.

    the owner is definitely knowledgable...went in there in late winter or early spring right after he opened up and we talked for about an hour or so...and they do have a solid selection..albeit a tad pricey..but worth it since as previously mentioned they have stuff no one else does

    Definitely gonna check this out tmrw. About 35 min drive from me. I hope by BA Firestone stuff he means lots and lots of Parabola. One can dream, can't they?

    A bunch of us have been trying to get a Parabola vertical going, between us we have 4 years worth, but logistics have been a problem. Send me a beer mail if you are interested and maybe we can get this resurrected.

    Sounds good. I drank my only bottle from this year a few weeks back, so if I can get another one I am definitely interested. Will let you know tomorrow around noon. Plan on going to the shop when they open up (my day off tomorrow and I'll be up real early to surf).

    I didn't see Freshly Squeezed. Blackout for $4.99 (same price in Philly, closest I've seen it to NY). Plead the Fifth for $7.99. Raison D'Extra for $13-14.

    I picked up a Pumking (already out....) and '11 Ten Fidy.

    Never made it to the store today. Beach traffic out of Long Beach was insane today. Will try tomorrow at least so I can get one bottle of Parabola.
