    I'll almost definitely attend. Have we picked a location?

    I thought maybe we'd swing by that place where we asked if we could open bottles, and if they say yes, we could open a few there, have one over the bar, and then head out. Lets go there today before/after we hit that firkin. That place may amenable to us opening too, but prolly have to pay corkage there.

    Works for me. How about we meet up at the first place around quarter after four, then roll onto the cask after?

    Maybe a bit later, I want to grab a burger in the beer garden first. And, sample whatever cask is on tap there too.

    OK, let me know what time you're thinking when you have a better idea.

    OK everybody! This hootenanny gets rolling at 1pm, Saturday 8/20, at Structures Brewing on State Street. They have graciously agreed to hot the kick-off portion of our day. We'll meet there and open a couple bottles, and buy a some brews over the bar (and, tip generously, as they're even going to provide and wash glassware), and then rollout to our next stop. They said they're pretty chill from Noon-3, but start to get busy around then. As their space is very cozy, this is an understandable request.

    Once we get a headcount, we'll figure out how many bottles to bring. I told Structures that I'd have a pretty close number for them next Friday. From there, we can head out to other breweries (there are 5 more within a 10 minute walk in various directions) or if someplace has an interesting tap list, that's a possibility too.

    So far, here's who is confirmed:

    @gator79
    @TheBungyo
    @beertunes

    The rest of you, just reply this thread to let us know.

    So far, it just looks like 3 guys getting together for a beer. Hope it picks up for you.

    Well at least we won't take up a ton of space at our meetup.

    OK, I pulled out a couple bottles for this deal, an '09 Alaskan Smoked Porter, and an '09 Skagit Trumpeter Stout. I know, it's hot out, but stuff like that is what I had. If it stays just the three of us, we might not need any other bottles. YMMV. Shrug.

    I have a Cigar City Endless Nameless and Aardwolf Early Bird Special, both bourbon barrel stouts. I'll probably try to find a hotel close to Structures Brewing and walk or take Uber from there.

    I think the general idea is to only open a couple at Structures, and buy a couple over the bar, then go hit a couple other breweries. But, with only three of us, it'll be easy to adjust. Downtown Bham is nicely compact for easy walking.

    Gonna be a hot day too! Anyway, why don't we each bring one bottle?

    Well, I've never heard of Aardwolf, and I'm a bit of a ticker, so, that gets my vote.

    It's got to be first among breweries listed alphabetically, so in one sense at least, it's a really good one to tick. :slight_smile:

    I'd be tempted by this meet-up if I weren't such a recluse, and based in Seattle. Stay out of trouble, have fun, and keep the excitement appropriately subdued up there, whatever the size of your gathering...

    I just found out we have flights this weekend so I'm not gonna make it this weekend. I will have next weekend off if anyone is interested in meeting on the 27th.
