I've been to Bier Abbey a few times now and I think it might be the best beer bar in the capital district. For out of towners this might past Mahers as the beer bar to try. It has 30 taps of incredible beer and some hard to find Belgium beers check their Facebook page to get current list. I was just wondering if other BA member have been and what their thoughts were?

There is a thread here with George (the owner) commenting. I watched one of the Euro games there while I was in town on business. Had a great time and drank some great beers. I didn't get any, but the fact that they sell small pours of all of the beers as well as full pours is nice.

The Ruck was my go to bar when I lived in the captial district and that was long before they were pouring craft beer (just Brooklyn lager). I love what Gardell has done to the place since he bought it, but its a totally different vibe from the Bier Abbey.

Thanks for the thread some how I missed it. The Ruck is diffently different vibe but also a great beer bar loved the Founders beer they had on tap earlier this week.
