I am a noob to BA and this is my first BIF. I am going to limit it to ten Bros. The rules will be simple and are as follows: 1. You will ship 120oz of beer to a Bro. No doubles. Of course, you will receive the same. Each beer sent must have a BA or Bros score of at least 90 points. The first nine responses along with myself will make up the ten Bro BIF. Ship dates will be 08/01-08-07. BM me with info, I will set up BIF based on geography. I am also open to suggestions as this is my first BIF.

Hold on a sec. I'm a little slow.

Are you calling us all "bro"? And we'll each ship and receive beer? What about a "bro-ette"? Can they join?

(Here is where the really cool "bro" pic would go.)

Or, are we all sending 120 oz. of beer to the Bros. for them to have? Because, if you got them to receive 1200+ oz of BA beer, I bet they'd name a forum after you, or at least give it a nickname.

Just funnin' around. Sounds like a really cool BIF. If I wasn't tied up in trades and other stuff, I'd consider joining in. Good luck and congrats on running one of these bad boys.

Might need to give the participants a little more time to cobble a box together before shipping - not everyone is sending stuff directly from their cellar!

This guy has no trade history, joined less than a year ago and has made 1 post on the forums.

Please, DO NOT join this "BIF." You have all been warned.

As someone who has ran several/countless successful BIF's, I would like to give some advice. Have a better definition/guidelines/organization to your BIF thread. As in "NBO: 90+ Bottle Ranking BIF" you could even go as far as saying "Noobs welcome" or "First time hosting BIF" to make it more attractive to people to want to open your post and perhaps join your BIF. By simply posting "BIf 90+ BA Score" you haven't given enough information or made it attractive enough for people to open/join your BIF. I like the idea, but I think a little bit of tweaking could go a long way. For example:
your bottle requirements, yes you put 120 oz, which makes 10 12 oz'ers or a little bit over 5 22 oz'ers. But you didn't mention if extras were welcome or try to max out the oz's sent. By doing this, you level the field for all who join so as to not have any participants butt hurt if they send out 200 oz's of beer and only receive the minimum back. Yes they received the minimum, but as an organizer it would be hard to "police" a BIF without more clear set guidelines.
BA + 90 is a good measurement, but if you phrased it "try to hit wants or highly sought after beer". Because in actuality, if someone sent beers that were in that person's distro region, but met the 90+ requirement, they have fulfilled that requirement of the BIF. I know it seems silly and should go without saying, but saying it not only covers your ass but it also shows the participants that you have a clear cut way of how you want your BIF to run.

I am by no means dogging you trying to start a BIF. It is refreshing that new people are trying to get them going, but a little more thought/planning/definition would go a long way and help make your attempt an easier one.
    cheersya!
