I promise I've searched for threads on this and did find a few(mainly just linking me to alewatcher's blog) the past 2-3 weeks I've been scouring the IT Forward forum for a BIF to join and I'm wondering or, I guess, just trying to assured that I am at least looking in the right spot? I see all the threads for BIF's/LIF's but most of them are ones in progress and I don't think I've seen one that has a first post saying "BM me to join" or something along those lines. Am I just missing the boat or is there any advice that could be given? Apologies for my potential "N00b" question, thanks for any response!

Thanks, I just saw a different one where the OP said there hadn't been many in awhile. I'll just keep a closer eye on that forum a bit more. I suppose the heat and 'summer fun' may be detracting some.
If your really feeling frisky just start up your own BIF. The best part is you can make it whatever you want.
It'd be my first BIF so I'd rather join up with another before I do it...but its on the bucket list...
As Crusiac said, it's been a little bit dry lately in the BIF world. I imagine summer has something to do with it. They should start popping up in the next few weeks, though. Keep an eye out for NBOs (New BIF opportunity).
Summer is a slow time for BIFs, because it's not a great idea to ship beer to southern states in the summer, particularly blindly and revolving more around a target date than the weather. Just keep your eyes peeled. I will eventually startup another NOOB-focused BIF, though with tweaked parameters than traditional BIFs.

This is definitely a great BIF to be part of. I've never participated myself, but I've watched the Hints and Hauls threads and there have been some awesome beers shared.
It's intentionally meant to be a low cost box of local shelf beers so that anybody can participate and get their feet wet with a BIF.
