I just cracked a bottle of big bad baptist release number 31. Are there any reported issues on this or any other releases? It was good but completely flat

I drank two bottles from that release and they were fine. Sounds like it was Just A Bad Bottle.

I wish I had paid attention to the batch numbers of the two bottles I have had. One was fantastic, just a step below BCBCS. The other was flat, and had little barrel character. Tasted like a decent coffee stout with a few drops of bourbon.

Other than having way the hell too much coffee in all the releases, I didn't notice any being flat.

Have to agree. I'm the guy who can never get enough coffee in the right styles but this one almost proved me wrong.....still an excellent beer though

I had a sample of this last Friday, pretty sure 31 was the most recent batch - definitely not flat, definitely couldn't pick up on any bourbon, very big flavor from the coffee.

Had a Batch #31 as well. No barrel on it whatsoever. Big dissapointment

Contact them about it - they'll make it right. Was your bottle from SLC or Denver?

If you want any barrel flavors from this series you have to age it 6 months-year

The bottle was from SLC. It was bottled in September 2014. There was no "hiss" at all when I cracked it open. The beer tasted like coffee with a little bit of bourbon. Not what I expected. I'm thinking maybe it was a capping issue. I'm going to contact them about it

They are at least up to batch 45. Saw it 2 weeks ago and have a couple 40's from a few months ago.

Yeah, I'm going a year or more on #27 and 30. Way too much coffee, and I LOVE coffee. Massively overdone, hoping that will settle down.

The coffee wasn't too much for me but it definitely overpowered the barrel

Have had #35 #36 #37 ... I have enjoyed each one very much, not to much coffee for me, & I'm not a coffee drinker at all !
I find this to be a very good mix of "coco- nibs" & coffee ! One of my favorite beers ! Keep up the good work Epic !! Thanks.!!!
