Are there any good craft beer bars in the area? Any suggestions on what to do? I am heading up there for Christmas.
There is a beer store called Home Of The Hangover. Other than that, there are grocery stores you may find some stuff at. There is also Big Bear Mountain Brewery but it was pretty damn disappointing when I went.
Stop by "Hanger 24" and "Ritual Brewing" in Redlands and pick up bottles and or growler fills to take up with you. Maybe hit up Total Wine and More in Rancho Cucamonga.
I will second that the BB brewery was dissapoint...don't even bother. I know you can purchase bottles of Stone at some of the bars like Chad's Place. I think your best bet is stocking up before you head up the mountain. Besides you are going to want some cans for the slopes.
Murray's is the best bar in town for craft beer. They have 10 taps dedicated to craft stuff. There was a fresh keg of Sculpin up there a couple weeks ago, along with a offerings from Stone, Hangar, Lost Coast, etc. Place has a cool local vibe, too.
