Was the Ramen Noodles a late night snack? Did you also have a big X-mas dinner earlier in the evening?

12oz of one stout alone shouldn't make you sick from alcohol, but too much heavy/fatty foods (typical Holiday foods) combined with some moderate alcohol intact could be enough to cause someone with a more sensitive stomach to get sick in middle of the night.

I've drank too much and had to use the emergency exits, but usually it occurs before I go to bed, not during the night. Were you pretty tipsy before going to bed?

Never had that with craft beer. You probably got food poisoning

Has Jim Koch not taught you anything?
1 spoonful of yeast could have solved all your problems...

I drank a Bell's Expedition a few weeks ago just before going to bed (instead of brushing my teeth).

I woke up at 2am a shitting, sweaty, dry-heaving mess! But I felt fine in the morning. Two days later, my wife and 3 kids all had the flu.

Every night since, I've made sure to Ten FIDY or Tweak it before going to sleep. "Stout keeps the flu OUT!"

    I don't like hangovers....especially from just a few beers.

Probably the Ramen noodles you ate but I doubt a 16% 12 ounce beer caused you to throw up.

rice before. If I know I'm going to be taking on copious amounts of alcohol in a single evening, I like to eat a big serving of rice.

Probably just some strange combination of things, or maybe your body doesnt want to go to bed after your first beer. Maybe your body was calling you a p**sy, and telling you to get back up and drink!

Did you feel "wasted" after this beer? If not, give it a shot again at a time when you are about to drink some other beers, just reach for that one instead. Really puzzled here, but hope that helps or at least makes you laugh a bit.
    cheers!

12oz of 16% should not be enough to push a seasoned drinker to any point of vomiting. Either big beers aren't your thing or something else was the cause. I would probably take the chance and try again, let us know how it goes. My Christmas servings included a BCBS, 120min IPA and a Raison D'Extra on top of a few lighter beers and I slept well but def no vomit.

Drinking a 16% beer at 12 oz. is equal to drinking about 3 "normal" ABV beers. Like 3 budweisers. Shouldn't make you sick.

Just try taking your time with big beers. A beer like that may take more than an hour to finish. Dont be afraid to put it in the fridge for a while and come back to it

Also, I personally hate drinking right up to going to bed. I try to stop drinking an hour before calling it a night
