    Big Black and Beautiful- Imperial Stout- AG

    5 gallons
    [OG]- 1.078
    [FG]- 1.014
    [ABV]- 8.6%
    [IBU]- 56 IBU

    75% efficiency

    10lbs 2-row
    2lb Flaked oats
    1lb dextrose
    1 lb chocolate malt
    12oz barley flakes
    12oz Crystal 120
    12oz Roasted Barley
    8oz chocolate rye
    4oz black patent

    1oz Columbus 15.8%AA- 60min
    2oz Cascade 5.5%AA- 20min
    2oz Cascade 5.5%AA- 10min

    Pitched on US05 yeast cake

    Mashed at 151F for 60 minutes, sparged to collect 6.5 gallons of wort
    Fermented 10 days at 68F
    Racked to secondary for 2 weeks at 68F

    Wonderfully decadent imperial stout. Lots of chocolate flavor and so smooth. The 8.6% abv is so well hidden. It might be late in the season for a big stout, but this will age perfectly for next winter. I plan to save a case for the holidays. Enjoy!
