Really? Whole Foods is known for their ridiculous beer prices.

All of their small bottle beers are really expensive. I normally see them around $15.

Not that big of a score but got a six pack of New Holland The Poet at Meijer for 7.99 when it was on sale.

Schnucks gets more allocated beer than anyone in the StL market. By far.

My friend, this isn't a score. They have several stores around the area with the same or better selections. Look it up. Lucky us.

I always swing by the beer section anytime I'm in a grocery store, you just never know what you'll find. The first bottles of Dogfish Punkin Ale in my area landed at a grocery store chain.

OP, which TW and Whole Foods? My friend moved down there recently to the Bethesda area and has been looking for a go to store. Those are great finds you listed

redwing497 tell your friend well that MD is not the best place for craft beer especially MoCo so I had the best luck at WF on P st in DC and the TW in Arlington and Shirlington. Perfect pour in Columbia, MD has a great selection.

Costco once had 3pk of Duvel 750s for $20, but grocers in general here have at least ok selection.

I was in DC for work, had an afternoon meeting. Since my morning was free, I decided I'd go to Whole Foods and check out the beer selection, pick up some beers and take them back to the hotel to bring home to New Mexico. I got there early, before the alcohol section was open, so I had to dilly dally a little bit. It finally opens up and I start talking with the beer buyer, who turns out to be cool as shit. We shoot the shit for about half an hour and I'm picking up beer after beer. Got about seventy dollars in the basket. The guy says "You gotta come try some of the beers we have on tap." I didn't know they had taps, it wasn't even 10AM and I was wearing a suit and bowtie but I was like, "Yep, I'ma drink a few beers this morning."

The guy hooked me up with a flight with Sump, Goose Island Minx, BA Gonzo Imperial Porter, DC Brau Everyday Junglist, and Great Lakes Belgian Tripel Dog Dare. I'm sipping away at the Sump, amazed how good it is, and an older gentleman sit next to me at the bar, which also doubles as a coffee bar. The couple order coffee and then look at me with disgust.

As I'm working through the flight the beer guy comes over and is like "Check out what just came in," and it was a Bell's Black Note and a DFH 120. Bye bye another $20. Ended up spending about $120 at the store and way overpacking my suitcase, but I felt pretty happy about the way things went down at that DC Whole Foods.

Found one bottle of Pirate Bomb! yesterday next to 5 or 10 regular Bomb!'s on the shelf. I think it was released weeks ago. $13 a bottle but what the hell? I'll probably never run into it again.

If you find a source of good/fresh struise in MD let me know. My regularly reliable sources have let me down (frisco, maxs, perfect pour).
