Will do. It's a great beer. Hopefully Big Sky gets their 750ml carbonation issues solved by the time they bottle it.

 

Ivan will be in very limited quantities, but it will be shipped to all of our distributors who request it on a "first come, first served" basis. From Neal not that this really helps much so I would say get the trading ammo ready

 

Not the right location, I realize, but I have 1 bottle of 2010 Ivan and a few bottles of each 10 and 11 Blue Hair in the cellar. For the Ivan I'd be looking for something a bit harder off my wants (on profile page). A thousand apologies if this is considered a mini hijacking.

I have an 09 in my cellar... 3000 bottles that year.. i need to drink that soon..had a '10 sometime ago...it was fantastic

 

Or you can trade it to me so it can keep my '10 company - it's lonely...

 

have you experienced infection in that one? i opened a 2010 recently and it had a lot of tartness and overcarbonation. is that how it's supposed to taste?

 

I got my bottles from an online store out of CO I believe. Fantastic stout, and doesn't get the play on here that it deserves. Much better than either Darkness or Dark Lord in my opinion.

 

But they are not barrel-aged, so it is hard to compare them fairly.

 

You have a point. Don't get me wrong, I love both DL and Darkness! Both are fantastic RIS'. I just wonder how Ivan gets so little mention on here.

 

No it sounds like you got a bad bottle. I've had 5 bottles of the 2010 with the most recent being 2 weeks ago. So far they all tasted as expected. Looking through the reviews I did spot 1 bottle from each vintage noting the characteristics you mentioned. So it seems there may be a few odd balls out there.

Wuh u say??? Your just jealous because I got to sample All Souls '10, All Souls '12, Ivan '10, Bottleworks XI and other uber cool beers in the back room of BS tonight. Uh huh, yeah.
