I know these threads have popped up in the past but it's a favorite subject of mine so I thought I'd throw it out there one more time. Sometimes I like to have a few and not end up on the floor so I'm always in search of delicious beer that's under 6% ABV or so and can be found in almost any state and store with a decent craft selection. Chime in with your favorites, particularly those closer to session strength (or at least, American standards of session strength!).

    Some of my current faves:
    Fritz Bream Berliner Weiss
    Sam Smith Oatmeal Stout
    DFH Festina Peche
    Bell's Oarsman
    Tetley's Nitro Can
    Otter Creek Stovepipe Porter
    SN Kellerweis
Two Bros. Dog Days Dortmunder Export
    Weihenstephener Hefeweizen (of course!)

Wish I could find it in NY/NJ: FW Velvet Merlin. I could go on but I wanna hear your selections.

Founders recently introduced a new beer called All Day IPA that is currently only being distributed in three states. I believe they are planning on this being a year-round product and distributed in all of the states where they currently distribute as soon as the supply is available to do it. It is 4.7% ABV and is full of flavor.

I just finished off a 6er of sierra nevada kellerweis this past week, it's good, it's fairly cheap and at 4.8% I can put a few away, good stuff.

Sour beers can deliver intense flavor at moderate abv. Many Belgians are readily available.

This has quickly become my social drinking beer of choice. Great on the golf course too (either the real or disc variety).

FW DBA, Weihenstephaner Hefeweissbier, Ayinger Urweisse, Ayinger Dunkel, Hacker Pschorr Dunkelweizen, Dupont Avril, cuvee des jacobins, I definitely think non-american breweries have a better grasp of lower abv + full flavor.

It's too bad you can't get FSW out there. This was the first beer that popped into my head when reading the thread title. Pale 31 and DBA are both awesome sub-5% beers as well.

We do get most of them...Pale 31 and DBA are in PA and coming to NJ; Union Jack, Double Jack, and Reserve Porter are easy to find, Parabola, the Anniversary beers, and Abacus come around in season. Apparently Wookie Jack will be here anyday as well. But no Velvet Merlin for some reason.

I really love Oarsman, 4% ABV and full of tart, flavorful goodness.
