Bigby's Pour House to open a Rolling Meadows site

    Caught this in the Herald the other day. Great news as this an injection of craft beer goodness to the area.


    Popular craft beer bar coming to Rolling Meadows

    Bigby's Pour House, a craft beer bar in Addison, will open a Rolling Meadows site next month at 1649 Algonquin Road, the former site of Caribou Coffee.

    The new bar will tentatively open Aug. 8, said President Ed Simbol, but it will be a while before the kitchen opens. The featured food will be tapas, he said.


    "The original Bigby's in Addison is very homey," said Simbol. "We will do our best to make this one as much like that as we can. The existing (wall) paneling helps."

    Bigby's is taking advantage of a recent Rolling Meadows City Council action, creating a liquor license that does not require the sale of food to be half an establishment's income.

    At this time the bar will only serve beer and wine, but it is possible "high-end craft cocktails" could be added in the future, Simbol said. The Addison location does not serve hard liquor.

    hopefully they still offer the $1000 Miller Lite. Big fan of that place when I find myself out in the burbs.

    This is great news, really would have enjoyed it the last three years I lived down the street. Moving across the country tuesday though...

    I happened across the location the other day, kinda excited to see how this turns out. Kinda a small space though.

    Good for them. Absolutely love the Addison location. Such a hidden gem.

    Great news, I heard about the new location awhile back, so I am glad they are getting this location opened, plus its on my way home from work! :grinning:

    Agreed. I've been there a few times and they always have a good beer selection, subdued and laid back crowd.
