You guys aren't going to believe this.... I've only drainpoured 1 beer (last year). It was so hideous... couldn't even recycle it to marinade ribs....

I CAN'T REMEMBER WHAT IT WAS!!!! This has been driving me nuts for months.
Must have been so traumatic that I have beer ptsd :flushed:

To the cooks who have sipped from the pepto bottle (I never tried it):

sweet overly smoky beer sounds like it has potential as a good rib marinade? Do you think it has recycling potential?

My biggest regret would be trashing Lagunitas IPA after having it years and years ago at a bar, before I liked IPA's, Now I tell people its the prime example of a west coast IPA (along side Racer 5, and Stone IPA) and my palate only accepts IPA's now!!

I will drink a very bad glass of beer and analyze why I don't like it. Funny thing. drain pouring is for elitist wimps who will only sleep with fluffed pillows. GTFO.

Because I generally dont drink beer to get drunk, I wont sit and drink something that I would not enjoy. (I'll see if my neighbor wants it before drain pouring) Wimpy? Yea probably, and my wife got me into fluffed pillows, it wasnt cause Im an elitist.....

    1) Stone Belgo-Anise IRS. Bought a bomber, couldn't even get through an 8oz pour. Vile. Rubbish. Drainpour.
    2) Thomas Hooker Nor'Easter. Bought a pitcher for $8 and felt like I got ripped off. My buddy and I each drank one glass and left the rest. What a mess of a beer this was.

I think you are thinking of and seeing trades for BA Batch 9000, not Batch 9000.

Wasting 3-4 years of my drinking years being a "faux-beer snob" without jumping in fully. There are so many beers I have had, but haven't reviewed. Now that my palate is more evolved, I'll have to drink them again and properly review them.

Eh. Picked up a bottle of Madrugada Obscura barrel aged stout. It was one of two barrel aged stouts that the shop owner knew of (that they carried) so I bought both. I did not know that it was a sour beer. I am really really really not a fan of sours, and while I can accept that this particular one was a well made sour enjoyed by many, to me it was undrinkable.

    Drain pour.

Only having one bottle of GI Rare left after drinking a few and trading away more than a few. I got great stuff in return mind you (2009 Black Tuesday, 07 & 08 FFF DL, 08/09/10 Surly Darkness, etc.), but damn do I wish I'd held onto a couple more.

Playing beer-pong with the craft beer I brought to party.

Ruination and lagunitas Maximus are not good party beers :-(

Me and my buddy had a sample of Lawon's Maple Trippel Ale at the ACBF last year and the taste seemed to stick with us for months after. We took a day trip up to Waterbury and visited him at the Farmer's Market where he had bottles selling for $30/bottle. I regret not going half on a bottle with my friend at the time. Now, I have to wait til June when he's releasing it again. The taste still lingers in my mind.
