lol @ people whining about drain pouring.

I poured out a shit beer last night. I got more joy out of seeing the last half swirl down the drain than I did drinking the first half.

Not getting a case of hopslam when it was available. A sixer is $20 and it's $60 for a case so you're saving the extra $20. Think between me and my woman we ended up purchasing 5 individual sixers, still wanna kick myself.

I was in a liquor store a couple years ago looking for something from FFF and the manager struck up a conversation with me. She told me they just got in some Founder's KBS that everyone was going nuts over. I passed on buying any!

Anytime I buy a case before trying it I seem to end up with a beer I dislike that cost too much. Amazingly I still do it from time to time.

Maybe if I tell you it went for $28 here in DC (no case discount either), you'll feel better!

Haha yea, just a bit tho, I'm in the Michiana area not even two hours away from bells and it's still that pricey, if I was in D.C. I think I would be doing backflips for the availability!!

I can't really think of a specific huge mistake, but one that happens more often than I would like to admit. I'll try a beer that isn't very fresh and assume I don't like the beer. Then someone else will get one for me and I realize it's actually awesome.

This happened to me with Double Jack. First couple times I had it I was very disappointed in a beer that was so widely regarded as delicious. Had some fresh stuff on tap and was amazed at the difference!

I agree with this, but in 5 years I have drank a lot of craft beer and haven't found a single one repelling. I guess an infected beer would do this but I haven't had one of those either. If a steak is disgusting I'll assume that it's gone bad, in which case I would throw it away. If the steak is just overcooked or lackluster I will eat. I've been eating steak for much longer than I have been drinking beer, & I've had some pretty dry and lackluster steaks at times but nothing I would call repelling or throw away. So I guess if it's infected or the steaks rotten throw it out but how often does that happen?

Was that a pleasurable experience? Dont you think pouring it would have hurt less and saved the pallet for something better? Thats taste-bud abuse

Drain pouring a BA Vanilla Bean Dark Lord before I had the palate for craft beer.

Kidding! Honestly though it would have to be the time I played a game of asshole with a KBS.
