Tuesday night. Thought I should Kill a sixer of Founders Cent' IPA and a sixer of Two hearted ale. On an empty stomach. I don't remember much of anything. I went around the house finding the empty bottles the next morning. It appears that I got through 8 of them, (minus a smidge still in the glass) did some youtubing, (last song played was The Beatles "Dig a Pony" lol) and slept in my boots. :flushed:

All the times I've passed on great beer to have enough money to buy enough 40s to drown my hatred...turning that around though...hate grows stronger...

It used to happen a lot more often, but way in the past. The stores and distributors have gotten to be really on their game these days (at least, around by me) and I don't run across as much ancient beer any more. I think you'd know it if you ran across one, though- ranging from cardboard-tasting to sherry-like.

Only thing i can think of is not buying all the bottles of Hopslam at my local shop. I got one, and i think they had about 8. I think it was only $4 even...not a huge deal but i just cant really think of anything else.

In 2009 I was in Grand Rapids for a week on a business trip (with a healthy per diem) and I never made it to Founders once. I was "too busy" with my work. C'mon, it's only a job!

I recall giving away some Nosferatu back when I was a craft beer Padawan Learner. Now I look forward to it each fall. I think we all have at least 1 "what was I thinking" moment on this craft journey.

I still don't believe people will scold someone for drinking / drain pouring / trading / hoarding / aging their own beer. Different upbringing I guess.

Seriously. If you're of legal age, and you're not harming another individual, it's your beer, do with it as you please.

    Cheers.

Spending my 20's and early 30's not even trying to drink beer because I didn't think I liked beer. Turns out I just didn't like bad beer. So many years wasted.

Dude - you probably haven't had one.
    Believe me, you would know.

My last drain pour was a GI Sophie.
It was so bad, that after getting a nose of the rancid aroma, I forced myself to take one sip - and almost spewed because my body rejected it that much.
The bottle looked like it had a small cocoon on the bottom.
    It was NASTY

If a beer tastes horrible and I'm not enjoying it, I'm going to drain pour it. The only other reason to force it down would be to intake alcohol. So yes, different upbringing I guess.

Started drinking draft 7 years ago but never thought about cellaring or trading. To think I could have cases of 7 year old belgians to sip on now...
