Yes, this is more the issue than anything... I can get a $5 IPA pint at the brewery and find it elsewhere around town for $4 all the time, for example. It should be cheapest at the source, IMO.

That's not how things work. In most industries, the manufacturer has dealers and they NEVER undercut the dealer in price, it's an unwritten rule. Why would I ever stock an item that a manufacturer sells direct for same or less pricing.

I grinds my gears when I go to a high end beer bar and can't get a decent glass of wine!

Beer has not reached the same "echelon" that wine has when talking Haute-Cuisine, the time will come because the tide is changing.

I have 2. First is a bartender who feels its OK to sub a beer when they run out of what you ordered without asking. I can't stand that - " we ran out of ____ so I poured you ____ - its very similar " NO - If you have run out of what I asked for tell me and let me make the call.
2 - People who feel they are the enlightened one because they good beer is better served warm or room temp. First that's your opinion - don't tell me how I should drink beer. For my tastes its simple - Beer is better cold, always has been - always will be. Now, some beers its more important than others. Example, a summer ale - the colder the better. A Stout, not so much but its still better chilled than warm. Now, with that said - if you like your beers warm go ahead and enjoy them that way. Cheers - I'll be the guy with the frosted glass.

No dates is a real turn off.

Also have been noticing some bars doing heavy advertising of a rare beer and only carrying a log to go around. Obviously its to get people in the door but its deceptive.

It shouldn't, but it does. I have seen it many times. I would hope/expect the brewery is the best price I can get for whatever beer, but it is not always the case sadly.

In terms of breweries not dating the bottle, but in terms of other beer drinkers, not pouring a beer into a glass. You, in essence, destroy the beers potential and miss out on the true flavor! Then don't tell me you don't like the beer afterward !

New one - lots of local breweries opening with beer that you try and don't like for whatever reason (don't respond to the style, don't care for the experiments, beer just not well-made, etc...). And when you try to say something to someone else in the "scene" to express your honest opinion, you either get insulted for not hating it enough or castigated for not supporting the local scene.

To piggyback this. The fact that pumpkin peach ales are not available year round.

The fact that so many craft breweries sell shaker pints as branded glassware. It's the least liked glass style in the whole community, and it's the most common type of glass to buy on brewery websites. Doesn't make any sense.

There's a reason for that. Breweries do not want to undercut their partners (local stores). If people are just going to go to the source and get beers for way less then there's no need for stores to carry your beer. I found it odd at first, but it makes sense.

To those in beer bars loudly regurgitating second-hand knowledge, passing it off as experience. It's obvious! We've read all those books too.
