I absolutely agree. Anyone who can count to 21 can bypass this system... Why is it even a thing?

PA alcohol laws... specifically how if you want to purchase anything less than a 12-pack you need to go to a specific subset of retailers which are too few and far between in my opinion.

Not odd, pretty much standard in all industries that have retailers. I have a hundred vendors that I buy product from, the ones who sell direct to customers, always charge more than MSRP. Otherwise, why would I even bother to sell their products if they can get them cheaper from the vendor.

I once asked the rep. of a major brewery exactly that question. The basic answer turned out to be a combination of two things. Federal regulations and the fact that it provides a layer of legal protection from expensive law suits accusing the Brewery of contributing to the deliquency of a minor through promoting underage drinking. Someone underage visiting the site has to knowingly lie to do so.

I wish that bombers were not way more expensive per ounce than the same beer in 12 oz cans or bottles.

And, on the opposite end of the spectrum, two out of the three grocery stores I go to frequently still had a few Summerfest 12-packs from last summer on the shelf all through winter and spring...

Patronizing a small restaurant/brewpub and them still selling an IPA that went wrong somewhere in the brewing process. If you want to brew beer respect it. That's my que to leave.

Bars with many taps and bottles but only 2 beers you could possibly call craft and those are WAY down the BA list. Went to a local "Beer Garden" last night with my son. Beautiful outdoor location on a large patio connected to an early 19th century inn overlooking the CT River, band and food (not great food though). They call it a beer garden. They have 10 taps and maybe 30 bottles. Almost everything a BMC product with a lot of mediocre redundancy. Why have all those taps and bottles and basically no variety? I can understand catering to the BMC crowd but jeez. Either this owner is clueless (most likely) or the big distributors are offering sex favors or something. Oh and by the way the bartender was fairly clueless also, as I was dumbfounded looking at the taps and bottles he said "what kind of beer do you like". I really said nothing because I like so many styles that I was instantly sure he'd never heard of, but what do you say in this situation without coming off as an ass?
It's a shame that something called a beer garden wastes an incredible piece of real estate and the opportunity that comes with it.

Or, when one gets married @ an upscale casino and wants other options for the open bar...Sculpin (or insert any other common major CA IPA), sure. That'll be $270 a case, glad most of the invitees weren't into craft.

Jair went through a similar thing. My 40th surprise party and my Father in law bought. Luckily, wife consulted a BA buddy here and got a respectable list of what to buy. LK Shandy was in there(!) but so were several types of Sierra Nevada , Founders, and Lagunitas.

Here's my hang up though....paying for shipping. In a world of Amazon prime, I hate paying as much On shipping as I pay for the beer.

I tend to 'sandbag' my last gulp of beer. People seem to get annoyed, but I don't want to drink the warm residue at the bottom.

When my friend brings me some barrel aged beer that's been sitting on ice for 10 hours, pops it open, and expects me to drink it right away. Ahhhh! Needs an hour to warm to correct temp.
