When "lager" is treated like it's all one style.
Yes, because an IPL is exactly like a doppelbock...

When people drink beer out of the bottle/can instead of pouring it into a glass (given that the beer is actually decent and deserves to be poured). A lot of people don't seem to understand the relationship between our olfactory receptors and taste buds or the impact that smell has on understanding and appreciating a beer's true flavor. Obviously, if it's kept in the bottle or can, then the aromas will be heavily muted.

When someone else washes my beer glasses. They'll either scrub it too hard or handle it inappropriately, causing minor scratches, etc.... or they'll leave it to air dry which creates water stains. Idk, I'm just really stingy about it. Let me wash my own fucking glass lol

I have recently found that I am annoyed when someone says "glass of beer" instead of just "a beer" or "a pint". I don't know why, but it just rubs me the wrong way.

    AND

The nonsensical obsession some people have with glassware. It's still just beer.

I have an irrational hatred of the word "cracked", when referencing opening a bottle of beer.

"Cracked a 10/22 bottle of BCBS and it tasted fine". You should be far more careful with glass bottles but I'm glad despite cracking it you were able to save the contents and enjoy.

There are times when you just can't find a bottle opener. Gotta do what you gotta do.

I think my grandmother used to have a "glass of beer" now and then.

Some friends of ours were over in England at a B&B type of place. They left the window open slightly, and told the front desk that they "left the window cracked a little bit."

There was a bit of confusion until they realised the window wasn't broken!

Those Bud Light Party commercials with the two "comedians." (I think that's what they're supposed to be, but I could be wrong.) Ridiculous concept, idiotic scripts, excruciatingly lame execution. I want to throw a shoe through the TV every time I see one of these.

I'm dcotom and I approved this message.

    No bottle dates

And i do enjoy ipas but i wish there was more than the idea of that being a NECESSARY style. Its fine to drink what you like be it only ipas. Cool, do you. But when they are miniscule options for other styles it sucks. But that has nothing to do with brewers its more of a store thing. Most liquor stores around me craft section is 99% IPA

Beers meant more for aging that don't have vintages on them. Put the damn year on it people!

It's not a store thing, they are just responding to the market. Craft beer drinkers want big, bold, flavorful beers, which are IPAs and imperial stouts, and not kolsches and Vienna lagers.

Ok. I can get that. I just in my own world would like to see more belgian styles. I suppose thats what people in my area want then. Im in a somewhat secluded area. 3-4 liqour stores in a 20 mile radius. But mostly ipa.

I've definitely done this with beers that were potentially 'too good' for a red solo or paper hotey cup. That said- they needed to be drank and at least I poured them in to cups so I could at smell them while I enjoyed.

I swear I've been to places where they bring me my pour and I've wondered where the rest of the flight went...... Seriously, if I decide to pay $12 for 6 ounces, that's purely my decision and I'll own it each time, BUT at least TELL ME I'm about to make that decision.
