I made a similar thread a while back and this was the consensus #1. I bought one off a singles rack but can almost guarantee that it was old as it was basically all malt.

Surprised not many nods for Abrasive, if someone shoved a grapefruit slice up your nose it would smell like Abrasive, and the taste most certainly follows the smell. I have no clue what kind of hops they use, but anything with Citra in it will be a grapefruit bomb, at least from the Citra IPA's I've had, ZD/Susan/Kern Citra etc..

Two week old odell is sure tasty, but I get more grapefruit from ska brewings modus hoperandi. Also get it from GI IPA and 80 acre hoppy wheat.

This, basically anything with centennial as the primary hop.

Hearing people list double jack and beers that feature Citra or different new Zealand hops is silly.

I think a lot of people just associate hop bitterness with grapefruit as it is a common descriptor.

ZD is all Citra, Kern Citra is obviously all Citra.

When I first got into craft and started liking IPAs, I had the worst experience with a bunch of Sweetwater beers. I wasn't aware at the time that beer could ever go bad or flavor could fade, so my perception of Sweetwater in general was completely thrown off. The beer was freakin ancient, so naturally I thought it was the crappiest IPA on the planet, and I talked so much trash about it to my other beer buddies (who were all noobs at the time as well,) but now I'd love to give my honest opinion on that beer fresh. I'm sure I will in the next couple months, but I just thought I'd share that story lol.

It's so good fresh. And for 8.99 a 6er, very hard to beat for the price.

FinestKind and Abrasive. You can find FinestKind in Hudson and it's amazing.

Seriously though Saga? I didn't get any grapefruit from this, IMHO. If you did, cool, but then you have to try FinestKind and you'll really get the grapefruit.

As someone mentioned above, Abrasive is pure grapefruit and so wonderful!

I can definitely believe that. I don't get it distributed out here, and I'm really not even sure how my buddy aquired it. I'm gonna be making a road trip to FL in a couple months, and I have a feeling that one of the states we drive through gets Sweetwater, so I'll give it another try.
