Thanks john. The boneyard website has suge knight but lists it at 13% so I guess that is one way to tell the different as the Bourbon Barrel aged version is 14%...I know the one I had was 14% so I am thinking I had the bourbon barrel aged. I guess it is a good reason to seek out both

Agreed. But, of course, there would have been no hiding just how pathetic both of us actually are! :-)

Was BA Abraxas the special keg?

The 6PM was indeed BA Abraxas. 2PM was Great Grandfather, 8 was Coffee BCBS. Cinnamon BBomb was my favorite of the night, though I'll probably be back in the next couple days to build on what I got in one day.

Unfortunately I didn't make it there in time to try the BA Abraxas, it was gone in a half hour according to one of the bartenders. But, as a couple other people have said, Cinnamon BBomb on nitro was incredible. Get some while you can. Also Ardbeg Adam FTW was a very unique beer experience, kinda like eating peat in beer form, pretty awesome.

I'm probably going to be back there at some point this weekend to try at least a few more of the incredible list Brouwers put together. Bravo on a great event.

Aside from it being on nitro, is Cinnamon BBomb the same version that will be bottled later this month?

From what I understand, they bottled a Coffee/Cinnamon version (combined).

    I'm wondering this as well.

When I got a glass the aroma that hit me was coffee. Strangely, the other folks sitting with me at the bar agreed ... "lots of coffee." But then I talked to folks at a table and they looked at me like I was crazy - "there was no coffee in that!"

As others have said, the Cinnamon B-Bomb was among the best beers of the night for me. BA Abraxas is amazing, but I really can't say it was better or I prefered it to Cinnamon B-Bomb. The thickness and sweetness of BA Abraxas can be a little cloying; I'm fairly confident I slightly prefer regular Abraxas to BA but I'd guess I'm in a minority on that.

Other beers that were unsurprisingly great:

    2011 Great Grandfather Raven
    BA Suge Knite
La Boheme (Bourbon barrel aging Oud Bruins works nicely!)
MoaS - this was also interesting in that I thought it was incredibly fruity up front, smooth (no burn), creamy body, toffee / butterscotch finish ... the people I was with at the bar agreed but again, friends at a table all felt it was far too sweet.
    Bottleworks XII
    Bourbon County Coffee

    Beers that were surprisingly great:

    Elevation Chardonnay Farmhouse
Ardbeg Adam (in a very small dose - the aroma seemed overwhelming but it smoothed out and tasted like a dry beer / scotch hybrid ... split that 6 oz glass)
Malbec Prunus (I've enjoyed most beers I've had from Propolis ... not sure why the ratings hover a bit low ... the tannic, dry wine character was nice)

    Beers that were disappointing:

Elevation Rum BA Horchata Stout (the horchata elements didn't come through ... maybe it was the bigger beers overwhelming it. It was tasty but I didn't get cinnamon or vanilla as much as I expected.)
Tweak (sampled while drinking BA Suge Knite and as huge as Suge is, this just felt like too much - the burn was a bit distracting)

I tasted a lot of coffee in the "cinnamon" infusion version at Brouwers. Am I crazy?

That's what I heard as well during the Bbomb waxing session.

No, For a minute I was convinced I was served KDS-Coffee when I ordered cinnamon b-bomb. It took me a few minutes to convince myself that it was in fact the right beer (clear nitro-head, lighter body) but I got a ton of coffee and very little cinnamon. Whatever they want to call it, that shit was ridiculously good.

Damn, bummed i missed the BA Abraxas...incredible that they tapped a keg of it in 30 min...i mean i know it is popular but given how high everything they have on tap is in ABV i would think the kegs would last at least a little bit longer.

I am planning on stopping by tomorrow mid day so hopefully there will be some good stuff left!

ahh!!! I missed the BA Abraxas! I was able to try Cantillon (it kicked right after I got mine) and BCBS coffee though. Cinnamon B-Bomb was my favorite of the 6 I tried.

Tried 28 beers total from 11am-9pm - but had three others at the table and everything ordered was split 4 ways. Utilized Uber after eating dinner at Revel (nearby Korean restuarant). Felt good the next morning. The key is drinking water and eating throughout and taking ibuprofin right before bed.
