Coming to Bellevue area next weekend and would like to hit up a few breweries on Friday/ Saturday. Thoughts? Cheers, Chris
Bellevue doesn't have any breweries. The closest would be Nebraska Brewing Company in Papillion. Omaha has some solid options too. Can you travel a bit?
Yeah, Omaha is really where it's at. The only thing I'm aware of in Bellevue is Moonstruck Meadery (though it's pretty tasty mead).
Yeah, Nebraska Brewing's brewpub is probably easiest to get to from Bellevue, pretty much just a few miles west. Otherwise, if you head north in downtown Omaha there's Upstream and Brickway, just west of downtown in midtown there's Farnam House and Scriptown (and Beertopia if you're looking for bottles), and a few miles north and west of midtown is the Benson neighborhood featuring Benson Brewery and Infusion (and a handful of other good beer bars: Krug Park, Jake's, Beercade). My personal favorites are Farnam House (Belgian-y stuff) and Upstream (little bit of everything) followed by Infusion (little bit of everything with more adjuncts). Midtown area will be a party/headache (depending on your perspective) next weekend, as the Crescent Moon (which is on the same block as Beertopia and Farnam House) will be having their annual Oktoberfest.
Thanks for all of the suggestions. I hit up Beertopia and grabbed a bunch of random IPAs for the drive back. I also hit up the following locations: Nebraska Brewing (Papillion Location). Been there before and solid stuff. Wish it wasn't in a mall... Upstream - man this place is massive! Great food and decent beer. Nothing mind blowing, but a sweet building and location. Brickway - interesting combo of beer and distillery. more laid back vibe than upstream and their beers had a bit more character, although not as many on tap. Scriptown - what a beautiful taproom. nice session beers for sure, but wish they had a bit more. overall I was happy. Farnam House - although super packed from Oktoberfest this was probably my favorite. Great selection and good food. Nothing to write home about with regards to the location, but good beer will ease those worries.
