I will be at 120 N. Lasalle St for business in a few weeks. Is the Binny's downtown the best reasonably close bottle shop?

Anyone have experience or know if they would possibly provide / sell packaging material? Would like to check a box for the way home.

    Yes.

No idea on the packaging material...you could just give them a call and ask. If you call, I'd ask for someone in the beer or wine department - sometimes the people that answer the general incoming calls aren't familiar with some of that kind of stuff.

Yeah, Binny's on Grand will be quite easily the closest place that will have a really extensive selection.

And same answer on the packaging material - wouldn't shock me, but I'd call. A FedEx or UPS store might also be able to help you out.

If you're an out-of-towner, I would always check in at a Binny's; there are other bottle shops that are as good or better, depending on what you like, but Binny's as a chain has so much buying firepower that you can always count on finding something you want there (which is why there motto is "If you can't find it at Binny's, it's probably not worth drinking").

I work in that building. Your best bet is to go to the Binny's on Grand. You could walk, but it would be a good 15-20 minute hike. A cab would take you there within a few minutes. There's a Binny's south loop that isn't too far either (via Cab). They have a real nice selection.

Grand or South Loop. South Loop may work better for you as far as packing material as to my knowledge they are the only store in the chain that ships.

Bunny grand ave will sell you a 6 or 12 bottle Styrofoam shipping (really made for wine bottles) if you ask them.

Great! I bought a shipper from them like 6 months ago so you may want to call and confirm.

there are two other bottle shops (relatively) close by in the South Loop which I heartily recommend. Warehouse liquors (http://www.warehouseliquors.com) located at 634 S. Wabash. Second is Printer's Row Wine Shop (http://www.printersrowwine.com) located at 719 S. Dearborn. Both are independent and have a good selection of local beers

I agree that Warehouse and Printer's Row are nice bottle shops, but if you're looking for one place, then Binny's is your choice. If you have a chance, you should check them out (of course, if you have a chance, you should check out Binny's Lincoln Park, The Beer Temple, West Lakeview Liquors, etc.). Based on where you are, though, the Grand Ave. Binny's is your most convenient choice and will have the largest inventory.
