Birthday present ideas

    So this thread is incredibly selfish, but it's for my birthday so I don't care :slight_smile:

    My wife has no idea what to get my for my birthday, and I kind of don't either.. I want it to be beer themed, but I'm not sure what to ask for..

    Any ideas??

    Variety packs are always appreciated by yours-truly. Visiting breweries are also a budding passion of mine. Do you live near any breweries?

    For Father's Day, my wife took me to a local bottle shop that also has about 30 taps and bought me a couple rounds while my daughter ate some ice cream (the bottle shop also has ice cream and various other treats for the kids) and we all enjoyed lunch from the food truck that was parked in the parking lot that day. Then she also picked up a $150 gift certificate for me. I've used that GC to buy a few beers I normally wouldn't buy for myself.

    So we're in the process of moving from Northern VA to Maryland for a month then to Portland Oregon, so for the next month and a half idk..

    Two birthday's ago (or perhaps it was two Xmas' ago) my wife bought me a regional beer guide book and paid for an overnight stay at the location of my choice so I (we) could explore the local beer delights.

    It was a most excellent gift!

    If that's the choice, I'll second the other sentiment--wait until Portland! And it's kinda late for BBF Boston trip/tickets, as only one session is still open. You should also probably wait with the glassware until you stop bouncing around.

    Go to http://etregourmet.com/, fill your cart with the maximum # of bottles you can get while still keeping it to one package. Cantillon, Westvleteren 12, lots of other stuff you pretty much can't get in the US. Done.
