You could have just bought 2 to save for later and then left or drank something else there

Yup, I bought two to-go and didn't have time to drink one there so didn't get that one on-site BB9

Haha, yea that probably is the appropriate response to me. Wasn't a big deal, I'd have just rather had that third one getting a little age on it with the others. I still wanted to drink it either way.

This thread is THE thread that I will point all out-of-staters towards as THE Texas thread. It simply has it all.

Sounds like Stags Head is closing at the end of the month. I know they get a few cases of each Bishops Barrel, and it is always no hassle. Its as good a reason as any to stop by and have a bottle. :slight_frown:

For those who have imbided in this elixer, what did you think of it?

It's good - but not like BB6 good at all in my opinion. Definitely all the typical Pumpkinator spices are present, the Bourbon adds a nice touch, but it's really quite subtle.

I've liked previous Pumkinator and BB6, but found this one so heavy on the spices that it turned me off.

Not good news, I'm not a fan of overly spiced beers or spiced beers in general.

If you didn't like Pumpkinator too much this year, avoid BB9. It's the base beer (I believe) and tastes more spiced than previous Pumpkinators.

Personally, I am a fan so it worked out well for me.

I'm not a big fan of it but I still try 1 each year. I didn't care for Rumkinator, IMO, it was to sweet from the rum barrels. If I stumble across a bottle of BB9, I'll try it, if not then no loss.

Went to Bdubs and they had it. As previously stated it is spiced to the gills. The barrel flavor is lacking. If you like Pumpkinator then this will be right up your alley. As previously stated. I had to try at least 1. Taste buds do change but not this time.

I'm glad I didn't chase this down then. I really wolud have liked a mellowed Pumpkinator with a good bourbon barrel kick, and I was starting to regret not getting some. I used to love Pumpkinator, but the last 2 years have been too much spice.

I still don't understand why they started "dry spicing" Pumpkinator. Pretty much ruined it for me. Bummer that BB9 isn't as good as one would think.

If you like recent Pumpkinators then yes. I agree with TomHouTX in that the most recent editions have definitely been more spice forward than past. I'm putting 2 away to see how they change in a year or two.
