Just polished off a 3 and it was damn good. 7 (I think) is supposed to be similar bA stout aged in Woodford barrels. How hard are these to find, how are they sold, and how much $? Just wanted some info as I was given a few bb as extras in a recent trade.

    Cheers.

They are all gone. When they are for sale, they only sell them at bars and not at stores. So you need to find a place that will sell beer to-go.

With that said, all the places are usually dried up within a week. Your best bet (oddly) may be out of state in places like Louisiana and Florida where they tend to sit on shelves at bars.

    They ranged from $6-12.

3 and 7 were both aged in Woodford, but 7 was a better Impy Stout recipe.

    This. ^^

BB is very highly regarded and sought after around here. In Texas, it is only available to purchase from select bars and restaurants. To be able to take them home, you have to find a place willing to sell them "to-go". For BB7, the lowest price I saw was $8 and most was between $8 and $11. Of course you will find the places that gouge and were charging $15+. A lot of places also have special release events for them and they are usually packed and sell out their allotment quickly. After that, it's kind of like an easter egg hunt trying to track these down. You just keep asking at the bars/restaurants that you go to and every once in a while one will pop up. This Saturday I'm going to a place that will have BB7 for sell but it's for on-site consumption only, no take homes.

Like aschwab mentioned, some other states do get a limited amount of BB bottles. I know there was a big stink raised about BB6 because people in Colorado were able to buy them in liquor stores and they were also cheaper costing around $5-6. A lot of Houston people felt slighted by hometown Saint Arnold over that.

This was 100% true in Colorado and I would feel the same way if I was still living in Houston... but we won't get that perk here anymore since St. Arnold pulled out of our market a few months back. The bishop barrel series is generally excellent. though.

I had the 4 and 5 this weekend. Would love to get my hands on some more without getting raked over the coals.

A lot of people also blamed it on St A's when maybe, just maybe it was the distributor who f'ed up and sold it at liquor stores against the wishes of St A's.

Saint Arnold admitted that they had to do things different when entering Colorado. They have also since pulled out of Colorado for what it's worth...

BB2 made it on the shelves of a few stores in the Fort Worth area...wish that a few other mistakes would be made...

Yup, I'll put it this way though, the distributor in CO DID f up. It was never intended to go to off premise.

We will be releasing 2 cases of bb7 for on premise consumption this Saturday at Ashford Pub. We will also have DR14, 20th Anniversary, WBA Ten Fidy, WBA Upslope Brown, Mysterium Verum Kraken, Stone 18th Anniversary, BB Gingerbread Stout and more on tap that day.

I did the set (minus 6, pesky issues kept me from sharing it) a couple weeks ago. 4 is far and away the best, with 5 still tasting insanely good. 7 had the biggest body of the 3 Imp Stouts. 1 hadn't really fallen off much but is still thin.

My pleasure, glad you enjoyed it and happy to turn you on to a TX brew you weren't aware of. I would have offered to send more but I only have one left, nice to see you found some though.

BB4 gave me a new appreciation for SA, it's a barrel aged banana sundae in a bottle. Hmmm, anyone still have some BTW?
