Hoping for my sake, that the rest of my cans taste exactly like your pour did.

Yea sorry to hear you had something bad. I can honestly say both my wife and I really enjoyed the pours. Now Reciprocal is my #1 from them. We had a pour of that next to our Swish pours and that stuff looked like septic fluid next to the Swish pours. Almost a brown'sh hue when compared to the hazy beautiful (normal) look of Swish. But my god does it taste good.

Let us know what you find later. If you think it's really off just message the brewery. I'm sure they'd be more then happy to help.

Nothing Gold had that same brown-ish hue to me. Still smelled and tasted fantastic though! I drank most of my NG cans out of the can because of this.

I will definitely do that but figured I'd check in here to see if anyone else was having an issue. Really appreciate the feedback.

I visit Maine once a year, and I just realized that my trip will coincide with the Swish release in December; I hope to get the chance to get a 4-pack, or at least a draft of it. I love Maine - the people, the scenery, and the beer is just icing on the cake.

Foundation and Bissell makes some of my favorite IPAs.

Edit: I'll be coming from Pittsburgh/Buffalo; If anyone wants to set up a trade, or just have the opportunity to try something unavailable to you guys, let me know. I can bring some beers with me. I'll be staying in Kennebunkport, but I'll be in Portland on Friday night and Saturday morning (Swish release!).

I was in Maine on my annual family trip last weekend which coincided with the latest Swish release. My advice: get there very early if you want a chance and be prepared to wait on a long line. Then be prepared to wait on a long line at Foundation due to all the people in town for the Swish release. Since I was not there just for these releases I did not wait on these lines but be prepared. Still a great trip. I love Maine too.

Do you know how early I should expect to get there to grab a 4-pack? I was planning 1-2 hours before release.

There were two guys also shut out when I drove by who told me that they were told basically anyone who go there later than about an hour before they started releasing was shut out. I would aim for at least two hours before.

Typically 2+ hours out should guarantee beer. Even when they were on industrial way we usually showed up at 10 for a noon release and had no issues.

Have you delved into any more cans? I have to admit the first can was a bit of a washout, but withheld from commenting due to a slight malfunctioning of the sinuses/head cold. Consequently, ciphered the cold and savored the cans = opened one recently, and got a plethora of intricacies absent on the first can: super soft, crazy texture, little booze, guava, mango, passion/tropical fruit galore

I can’t be certain if the extra days had that much of an impact on the settlement/development v. the impartial senses I was working with at the time. Regardless, curious:
    • if you were still getting that “rushed...not really drinkable” aspect
    • if you reached out to the brewery
    • if you were looking to unload the remaining cans

Just had another can last night and it was much better than the first four but still not (in my opinion) what the final product should and will be. It seems to be trending in the right direction but still seemed a little muddled. I don't see a need in reaching out; shit happens. I'm not even upset, just curious if anyone else was having the same experience that I was.

As a home brewer, I've learned quickly that even an extra 24 hours can make a huge difference in my product. I just had an IPA last week go from extremely bitter to balanced in 24 hours.

Will report back next week when we open another can.

Timing can be critical, "you never know what you're gonna to get."

Swish sold out in 55 minutes this morning. I'd say Bissell has figured it out.

Selling out in 55 minutes is great for them. Not so great for us.

wow. didn't realize it sold out that quick. i drove up from Boston and was in line by 7 am. I was out by 9:15, they really moved people through. opening up early and having only cans available was key to the quickness.

Heading up to the new Bissell location Saturday. I'm just looking to snag Substance cans and the non-Substance release doesn't seem to be a very popular one (Umbra). Anybody know when they typically sell out of cans on regular Saturdays?

I figured they'd last fairly late into the day, but I checked their twitter and was pretty surprised to see that they only had 20 cases of Substance left as of 1:15 yesterday. Maybe they release less Substance during the week?

they release more cases as the week goes on, I believe something like 40 cases wed, 50 thurs, 75 friday, 100 saturday. My numbers are likely wrong but it is something like that. Based on what I;ve seen, you should be fine to show up early afternoon (1-2 pm) and be fine to get substance and umbra, which is a really good oatmeal stout. In the summer months, substance sells out sometime around 1 usually on saturdays but in recent weeks cans have made it til sunday.

    Is
Is Substance a safe bet through the day today (Friday)? I plan to swing by at some point but want to make sure I get there early enough.

Friday's are a tough call....I'd err on the side of caution and get there early. If you're talking about today, there are no other beers being released, so Subby will most like go quick.
