Aren't they brewing a lot more with the new location?

 

Yea, I would say no shot at all. They did just move, have no idea if they increased their brew house capacity though, might just be increased fermentations space. Case counts seem to have remained the same.

 

wife and i got there around 2:30 yesterday and we picked up a few 4 packs of susbtance and at that time there was only about 10 cases left from the 85 and the 19 cases of baby genius sold out long before we got there. I think sat they said they would have 100 cases of substance

 

We wound up getting to Portland about 6:00. I didn't really want to stop if they weren't going to have anything. So I called a few times when we were getting close but no one ever answered. Oh well.

 

I imagine they weren't answering calls after 5:30 or so, bummer

Wed/Thurs till 6 then Fri/Sat till 8 and Sunday till 5

 

Interesting, but can be misleading on the website as the hours listed under contact don't reflect the tap room hours.

 

I'm heading up to Maine on Friday and I plan on going to Bissell on Saturday. What can I expect? The website says Substance and Dangol should be available. What time is best to get there and how long is a typical wait for cans?

 

We may head up from York on Saturday. I haven't been up in Portland on the holiday weekend in quite some time, never-mind to T-Point. Does anyone know of any big events for the holiday that may royally screw up parking at T-Point that day?

I only ask since my folks may tag along and I can't put them and my baby through that. Concerts make it almost impossible.

I wouldn't worry about lines as nothing epic will be on. The line will form before opening for cans. But as long as you arrive around that time you should get some, BUT I would factor in that there will be holiday crowds. You'll definitely be able to get pours. I just threw up a similar post about any events around T-Point for the holiday weekend that would kill parking and make things a mess.


4th of July is the biggest holiday for us up here on the Seacoast. Portsmouth where we live becomes a nightmare. So I stay at the beach

 

Awesome, sounds good to me. I'll try to get there around noon to give myself the best shot at getting both cans. How long of a wait can I expect?

I'll be in Pine Point by Old Orchard beach and from previous experiences I know to basically just stay in not even bother leaving town on the 4th! Though, being from the Philly area, I'm used to traffic all the time.

 

Went to Bissell for the first time this past saturday, tried out every offering, and couldn't help but notice the distinct taste of pickles. In every beer, the Substance being the worst. Both my girlfriend and I noticed this. Whats going on here?

Not sure what is happening in your case, but I can attest to everything from 3 weeks ago tasting great. My cans actually tasted better about a week in. If you were drinking on premise, maybe the glass cleaner was not rinsed all the way? All I got for a possible explanation...

 

Pickles, that's a new one. I'd think about what you ate possibly.

Pretty good line today at opening. Down to the edge of the parking lot. I got there 30 mins before open and was out by 12:10 with 12 cans each of Sub, Reciprocal, and Baby G. Good day in my book.

 

Hi, we are putting out between 550 and 800 cases a week on the new setup. Right now limits are at 3 4pks per person per brand per day but Noah and I are always examining the variables and trying to figure out the best possible solutions to all logistics. Thanks! - Pete

 

We don't have any office personnel manning a phone line, I'm sorry. Many people try to call my cell phone which is (in retrospect, foolishly) printed on the Substance can. I try my best to answer as much as possible. the best bet is to follow on instagram at @bissellbrothers or twitter at @bissellbrosbrew. We post updates every single day, often multiple times in a day. And Hester & I answer the land line when we can. Thanks and appreciate the patience
