Looking for a little help. I'm putting together a beer package to raffle off for a charity (I'm running the Boston Marathon for Team MR8). I'm going to be in the Portsmouth, NH on Sunday and I was looking for a BA that could pick up some of their beers and meet on Sunday, 3/8. I have access to Trillium if you would like to trade or straight cash. Again, this is toward a raffle for charity. Any help is much appreciated. Mail me if you can help out. Thanks.
Not sure what you're looking for as far as qty, but if you PM me a label I'll box up what I have left and send it your way. 5x Swish 2x I-Lucky 1x Substance
It's really different. The ginger is subtle, and the rice base leaves the sorachi and lemon drop room to shine. Definitely does not have the dankness like Substance and Swish. It deserves to be drank with sushi or seafood in general. It's a food complimentary IPA. I thought it was great!
Anybody have any info on how their releases go? Heading up there tomorrow and was wondering how bad the line usually is and how early to get there.
If you are in line between 11:15 and 11:30 you will be in and out of there in no time. They do have a cash only cans only line. I don't know what your plan is but you can line up in the cash only line get your cans then head to Foundation and Austin street for a bit and then go back to Bissell after the rush dies down for the tap room experience if you haven't been before.
I was there for the last Bissell "SWISH" release, which was also taking place at the same time as the first Foundation "Epiphany" release right next door. Bissell has tunes blasting on the stereo and had some free Holy Donuts and Coffee by Design. There were three lines, each with about 20-30 people in them when I arrived around 11:30am before the 12:00pm kickoff: One Bissell brewery line, One Bissell Cash-Only cans line, and One line to get into Foundation for a growlers or cans... I was driving out of the Industrial Park by 12:20pm with cans from both breweries. As noted above, I think the key is the "cash-only" line for Bissell - They pumped a ton of people through the line in that first 15-20min. If they're doing it again (through the door immediately to the left of their main retail entrance), I'd say highly recommended to come prepared with cash.
Is it just me or is the definition of "release" becoming blurred? Any time a brewery cans a beer it is a "release". Releases used to be once a year or every couple years not a couple times a month
You're probably right... Blurred overall. But in this case I think the Swish "release" was their 4th time Ever... And for the Foundation Epiphany cans it was the FIRST time Ever. For me I think "release" still qualifies.
Showing up at 11:15 or 11:30 guarantees as least 30 or 45 minutes in line. Show up at 2pm and you can practically walk in and out. These "releases" have not been selling out, and leftovers have been at the Bier Cellar on Sundays. Of course, nobody wants to be the guy left out when they do actually sell out...
I was at the last Bissell Bros. and Foundation release day I was a little early getting there about 11:30 and was at the front of Bissell Bros. line. The coffee and doughnuts were a great way to pass the time as well as chatting with other people in line. I was in and out in less than 10 minutes and over to Foundation for about another 5 minute wait. All said and done I had all the beer I wanted and was back on the road to Banded Horn by 12:15.
Finally got a pour of Swish, which Hella Good Tacos in Portland has on draft. Holy moly. What an excellent beer.
