Hey guys I'm going up to Ogunquit on Thursday and leaving Saturday. Do Bissell Brothers cans make it that far down? If so, any idea where I'd be able to grab some? On another note, just winging it, but what are some good things to do in Ogunquit this time of the year? Thanks!
Mostly pile every blanket you can find on the bed, curl up in a tight flannel ball and whimper. Or drive, like, twenty minutes south, and go to Tributary Brewing, Great Rhythm, Deciduous, Stoneface, Smuttynose and Portsmouth Brewery!
Yes, check Tully's. As @kculrich said, not much to do in Ogunquit this time of year. If it's not too miserable you could wander around downtown or head out to Perkins Cove. Not many places open. I haven't been there in some time, but Cornerstone has good pizza and a good beer list. Head to York or Portsmouth for other options in terms of beer bars and breweries.
Or this! More like 45 minutes what with getting back out to the highway but, still, Bissell, Foundation (Afterglow this week?), Austin Street and Banded Horn on the way back.
I definitely second Tributary - you could easily pop in for a couple growlers and continue on Route 1 to Oqunquit, and / or check in on Tullys too, not sure where that is.
Miserable....I would wager walking Marginal Way to Perkins Cove could potentially redefine one's understandng of the word cold at this time of year, but I bet it is beautiful! We stay in Ogunquit frequently, but have never done a winter trip. Pretty reasonable base of operations with Portsmouth/Kittery/York right there and Portland a fairly easy jaunt. Plus Freeport, although we skip MBC now. A little dissappointed with Tully's last couple of visits. Not as much Maine product on the shelves, but they roll over inventory pretty quick so we may have been unlucky. The 7-Eleven at the Kittery rotary is always a pleasant surprise.
threadjack, sorta... heading up to Oguinquit shortly, from Mass. Ha! We are actually doing the marginal way walk! I'll let you know how it goes! will have 4 adults, and one relatively tough 8 year old. Plan to hit 2 or 3 seacost breweries (plus Stoneface for a quick growler fill of Double Clip). Haven't been to any (ex Stoneface). looking for food plus beer style variety, although IPA's are preferred. Great Rhythm is a definite too, as it seems too easy for 95/1 access, plus the out-of-towners want some juicy IPA's after their Trillium visit earlier in the holiday week and we aren't getting to Tree House. So Tributary or Deciduous?
Portsmouth Brewery and Smutty are both solid food destinations. If I had to pick between Tributary and Deciduous, I'd pick Tributary but it's a question of style - Deciduous is a lot of funk and fruit which I have a limited tolerance for. They both have menus online so you should look what's on before you pick.
