I'm thinking I might enter my apricot Berliner weisse in a competition using the 2008 BJCP guidelines. It seems like the category would be fruit beer, as the only sour category with fruit is fruit lambic. Does this sound right?

If it tastes like a Berlinerweisse, enter it as such...and don't even mention the apricots... or not

I've been entering mine in fruit beer category and it's done well. It usually loses to another fruit berliner weisse.

Fruit beer is the place. I've only entered a fruit berliner once, but it won fruit beer when entered (Passion fruit berliner).

I don't doubt that fruit beer is the place to medal, but I think that is mostly because of all the complex sours in the "Sour Ale" category. Where's the cojones?

They disappeared along with the rest of my manliness when I decided to brew a berliner with passionfruit and a blonde stout in the same year.
