Im interested to see what it has taken to recieve a Blabaer in a trade. I would prefer 750ml, but wouldnt be upset with 375ml. I offered a Isabelle Proximus and didnt hear anything, had a trade set up for multiple Vintages of Beatification but the trader backed out. What did it take to get your Blabaer?
honestly I went through the same thing..I ended up doing below..quick and easy sorry to say ..sell your IP/Beats on ebay...buy Blabaer
ive thought about that... but im weary about spending $250+ for a bottle of beer and finding out its not Blabaer in it!!
the guy I bought off had over 100 transactions and had 100% feedback and sold many high end beers.. you just need to buy from someone like that..same as trading with a trust worthy person...actually you have more recourse on the bay than if someone on the BA stiffed you with a box..
It's ironic that the precise kind of beer worth buying on Ebay (an extremely hard to trade for super rarity) is precisely the kind of beer that I'd be most skeptical of buying on Ebay. Blabaer is likely harder to fake than most, but even then - what's to say it's not half-Classic Gueuze and half-Upland Blueberry? (Or just 100% Upland) If you've never had it before, you'd have no idea. Even if you have had it before, what's to say it's not just batch variation? Drink a Blabaer, fill it with $30 worth of beer, and sell it for $300. Your odds of getting caught are astronomical. You also don't have much recourse when you're buying something that wasn't intended for human consumption.
In this recent thread the OP was offered a Blabaer.....for his five bottles of '11 Black Tuesday: http://beeradvocate.com/community/threads/ft-bt11x5-iso-one-good-bottle.10621/#post-125131
Hmmm. Sounds like a plan. Step 1: Steal socks Step 2: ???? Step 3: Sell Upland blueberry as Blabaer on ebay. Profit!
buying it or trading it.. sorry to say but there's risk in both..someone could trade you an upland blueberry and you could trade him $300 dollars worth of your beer (ebay worth) as well..then he goes on the bad trader list and is never heard from again..trade or buy.. if you never had it before you'd have no idea.. at least if the seller cares about hes feedback on ebay and wants to continue to sell or has been selling for years and sells multiple big bottles I think risk is somewhat small..I know alot of people that bought high end beers and haven't heard of a fake yet... unforutnaly the way people hold onto these big bottles its a huge pain in the ass trading for them...ebay may be your only chance
I remember last summer there was an ISO blåbær FT izzy&beat combo.. don't remember which batch of beat though. people at that time considered it a generous offer from the trader. maybe you should try that combination edit: also, blåbær is made once a year or so.. don't go too crazy now; it will be more abundant when its made again (June last year)
Traded some IST and BA IST for an '09 750 once (domestic). Traded two Batch 1 Jims for a '10 375ml another time (international).
It took me a lot of kms driving (1800!) in my a car to get them where they're sold, lucky to have friends who speak Danish! Got two, and cherish them! It'll have to be a solid trade that makes me change my mind...
